Checklist #1 – Website Conversions

If you don’t convert web traffics (visitors) into leads, phone calls, and sales then your website is failing in its basic task as a website. The (not realistic) desire is that 100% of visitors convert into sales. The reality? 2-3% traffics (visitors) take the desired action you want them to take. Is your website converting 3% of all traffic? If not then action this checklist.

Is your website fast loading on mobile and desktop (score >90)?
Is your website mobile-friendly?
Do you have a “click to call” or a “contact us” and subscribe button?
Can visitors engage via chat or two-way text?
Are you using authentic images/ videos/photos of the owner and photos of your team, etc?
Do you have the phone number in the top right corner of every page? (not for every business)
Is your irresistible offer irresistible? Clear so good people to feel stupid saying no?

Checklist #2 – SEM (SEO + PPC)

Search Engine Marketing, SEM (search engine optimization, SEO, and pay-per-click/social ads) requires daily, weekly action to a) get people to visit your website, c) expand the reach of your media (videos, posts, updates) and c) get results faster.

Search Engine Marketing – SEO and your Website

>=100+ pages/posts on your website, 10-15 are pages and the remainder are blog posts.
Home, About, Contact, Services, policies, policy, T&C, Refund and Returns pages, blog page.
Do you have pages for each core service with a clear CTA?
Does your website rank on page one for your most important keywords?
Are you regularly and consistently publishing articles on your website?
Are you using authentic images, videos, photos of the owner and photos of your team, etc?
Do you have the phone number in the top right corner of every page? (not for every business)

Google Business Profile (formally Google My Business)

Claimed and verified your Google Business Profile and do you have the login details at hand?
Have you adequately optimized your Google Business listing Profile?
Listed in the major online directory listings? Using the exact same name, phone, and address?
Do you have systems, processes, and checklists to get new online reviews from clients?

PPC (pay-per-click) & Social Media Ads (Facebook, IG, Twitter, LinkedIn).

A Facebook profile, page, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn profile and company page, a YouTube channel?
Are you posting regularly on these social media channels?
Are you responding to questions and comments on your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn posts?
Are you following the $1.80/day Strategy on LinkedIn and Instagram?

Email Marketing+Automation

Do you follow up within 5 minutes of new leads submitting their contact details?
Do you have a conversion campaign in place to follow up with leads that don’t take action immediately?
Are you using a CRM to assist manage leads, customers and clients?
Are you sending out weekly email marketing messages to your existing clients and your prospects?

Checklist #4 – ROI & Tracking

Are you tracking and calculating your marketing ROI and are you tracking the actions people take on your website, search and social media?

Do you have Google Tag Manager installed on your website?
Do you have Google Analytics installed for your website?
Have you set up Google Search Council and Bing Webmaster tools?
Have you set up Digital Plumbing?
Do you have a keyword ranking tracking set up?
Do you have a “dashboard” with your cost per lead and total marketing spend to calculate ROI?

Action each item on the checklists ☑️ until it is complete. A checklist is not a tick box exercise! Only check the item off of the list when the task is complete.

For example, a pilot uses a preflight checklist before takeoff to check if:

  • Is the plane fueled? Yes, No
  • Are all the luggages onboard? Yes, No
  • Is the fligh plan submitted? Yes, No
  • Are we cleared to backup? Yes, No

Simply pulling the simple idea string along to the person refuelling the aeroplane has his own checklist to action to ensure the plane is a)refuelled to the proper level, b)no fuel is spilt on the tarmac, and c) ensures he is refuelling the correct aeroplane.

Checklists are not specific and detailed instructions for a task. Checklist only ensures the task is completed and marked as complete.

Yes and no and it depends. #SorryNotSorry for my answer.  

E.g. setting up Google Tag Manager or writing a 5 email autoresponder series are one-off events. And checked ☑️ when done!

But, the rollout of new features happens regularly, new tags require incorporation and an autoresponder series can always be improved, 🟦 not done.
